First Trip Out Rondeau PP
At Rondeau first trip of the season. Lots of sites available! In fact we are the only trailer here. A little rain tonight but the rest of weekend clear. A nice flat park, lots of paved trails for biking, birds, and Deer in the forest. Still snow in the forest in spots.

You lucked out on the weather through the weekend.
We're going to be there starting May 6. I like Rondeau because the sites are quite large with good privacy. What site are you at?

We are site 89, south campground. Nice and large. We are home next weekend then out the following to Pinery and then Inverhuron for opening weekend. In Ontario we have stayed at Provincial Parks 98% of the time. Pick a site near water and use blue hauler when required.

That looks like a nice big site and you shouldn't be having much trouble with traffic even though its a corner site (the map shows there are only 7 sites in the whole south campground occupied this early in the season).
We were at 47 last year but it turned out to have the wrong orientation... fire pit/sitting area in the middle left so I had to pull in from the opposite end to get the door on that side and had to have the truck on the road to unhitch. This year we're one down - 46 - which looks to be laid out as expected. Still going to be only about 1/4 of the RV sites booked that early in the season so it should be pretty quiet.
I usually carry water to provincial campgrounds and if we're very good we can get 3 nights out of it but I have the gear to refill from the hydrant. We usually only stay 3 or 4 nights anyway.
For the beach, its hard to beat Long Point so we have that booked in late July however the RV sites have nearly no privacy. The beach at The Pinery is great too but I could never get used to the 'camping on an industrial scale' feeling. Some friends closer to London with a smaller class C love the Pinery.

45 is unlevel, 6 stacked lego blocks. We looked at 46, even worse. 43 is nice and level. The Pinery is kind of packed in and 32 ft 5er takes up the whole site in many, we just go there off season. Inverhuron has the most privacy, does now. Did when i camped there in the 60's 70's prior too it being shut down. The beach at Inverhuron is the best around.

I think I only needed one 2x10 to achieve level at 45. I've now got a pair of Anderson Camper levelers and a Levelmaster on the front that should take care of most reasonable situations. I'll have to check into Inverhuron - DW wants to do something over there too.

My husband andI love Inverhuron. Sites are private and not crowded. Booked in for beginning of July and we can't wait. We booked the Pinery for a weekend in June and sad to say we have already booked our site for Labour Day at Turkey Point. It seems depressing to be booking so far out and we haven't even got the trailer out of storage yet. Oh well, guess it gives us something to look forward to.

We were camped at Rondeau this weekend. Weather was a bust, rained from early Saturday morning until we left Sunday at 2. We love this park, lots to see and do, anytime of the year. We usually go April/May and September/October, only second time we have been in June. Unfortunately the weather ruined this weekend. However i have to say even with all the rain we had the site we were on drained quickly.

My wife and I are partial to 46 (45 is almost the same). Despite what was said above, the side-to-side level was taken care of with one 2x10 (now using Anderson levelers which are even easier). The site has very good privacy - wide and can hardly see through the foliage to adjacent sites. Also nice is that, since I do a dump run mid-stay, the dump station is in easy pull range for the portable tank. Don't get 47... the layout is wrong (fire pit/eating area on wrong side... have to pull in from the opposite end and be on the road to unhitch so your awning and that area align).

Filling up for early May... I just tried to book 46 (or 45 or 43) and they were gone so I booked 68 (the other corner of Brian's fav, closer to the water). Still a huge level site but too far to pull the portable tank by hand... will now have to pump into back of truck and drive it.

Yes, the site looks pretty good. They're all quite large at Rondeau and there's lots of separating foliage so you shouldn't have much issue with the corner/intersection site (its going to be much better than the best RV site at Long Point Monarch).
Be aware that the description says the fire pit location is 'middle left'. This means that if you pull in from the site-number-post end, the door/awning on your RV (which is on the right) will be on the other side. 3rd picture looks like there is quite a large clear area on the right anyway so you can just move the picnic table over, however if you want them both where they are in the picture just go around and pull in from the opposite end. I would recommend getting out and having a look before you commit. That's what we did when we booked 47 as our first site there and decided to pull in from the non-numbered end.
