Lake Superior Provincial Park/Bruce Pensinsula

Would like to hear from fellow RV'ers on their particular campgrounds- routes taken from Buffalo, NY area . Destinations are Bruce Peninsula, Manitoulin Island via ferry, Lake Superior Provincial Park, Killbear Provincial Park,Algonquin Park, Thousand Island Area .... all over 45-50 days

Don't know what direction you are going to be taking? The odd destination in the group you are asking about is Lake Superior Provincial Park, though it is a beautiful park, do you realize it is north of Sault St. Marie?
Have camped in all the other areas, all have an abundance of parks and great scenery to see, check the prices on the ChiChimaun ferry, may be costly if towing an RV, but it is a great experience and a welcome break from driving. I don't think it starts up till May and make sure you reserve at peak months.

We did that route two years ago. We went in reverse, went up Hwy 400 to 69 and stayed at Grundy Lake Prov Park (well laid out for Rvs and trailers) Killbear Prov Park is a gorgeous area but depending on what you are travelling in limits you to sites. We continued north to Sudbury and down Hwy 6 to Manitoulin and stayed in the Sheguiandah area. Great fishing, boating, and touristy things to see and do. Then took the ferry across to Tobermory. As stated before need to reserve in advance and it is pricey I recall it was in the $250 range for truck and trailer (price measured by the foot). There is an excellent fish and chips restraunt at the ferry terminal along with gift shop, beautiful native art for sale. Going up the Bruce, very scenic, lots of campgrounds especially closer to Tobermory, we stayed at Summer House Park on Miller Lake just a few Km from town. Lots to do in the area (hiking, tours, biking, scuba, canoe and boating etc). Algonquin Park is hge, we always stayed at Mew lake but there is about 10 camping areas there not including if you are going off the beaten trail. Excellent fishing. If travelling along the 401 (Brighton), there is the Presquille Prov Park, we go there every summer, swimming, biking, hiking, birding. Around 1000 Islands we stay at Ivy Lea KOA which is on the Parkway, 1000 Island cruise, Bolt Castle. City of Kingston just down the highway, night life, Pennitentary Museum, Fort Henry, shopping and restock the fridge. There is also a KOA in Kingston if planning to stay a couple of days. I could go on and on.

We spent 5 days at Lake Superior Provincial Park last summer - we absolutely loved it. This is a huge park with two camgrounds - we stayed at Agawa. Some sites are near the hiway but many are right on the shore...and Superior always lives up to her name. The sites are spacious, the sunsets beautiful and the water is cold. Great hiking including to a rock face overlooking the lake where pictographs dating back hundreds of years have been discovered. Its important to arrive here well provisioned; the closest town is 80kms away. I should also mention this part of Superiors shore is very rugged with low mountains - makes for interesting towing at times but the road through the park are in good shape. If you decide to stop at Sault Ste Marie on your way Id highly recommend the koa there - hands down the best koa weve stayed in.
