Looking for a good, FHU CG within striking distance of Toronto.

Hi folks,

I'm looking for recommendations for a good CG with FHU not too far from the GTA for next summer. Most likely very late June and early July are the best I can give for timelines. We'll be looking to stay for about 7 - 10 nights and need to accommodate our 40' 5er.

We're hoping to be able to host several family members for a few nights and other friends who may well come out to see us for the odd day here and there - so if you know of places that don't have big fees for daily visitors it would help.

I guess and hour or two travelling from Toronto wouldn't be too far and my results keep pointing me to the Toronto North KOA but if anyone has other recommendations I'd be happy to listen.

Thanks

Sorry for being so long to help....I don't check this forum as much as I should.

There is one campground located at the East end of Toronto.....and technically, it's actually located within the physical boundary of Toronto by inches. The name is

Glen Rouge Campground
7450 Kingston Rd
Scarborough, Ontario
416-661-6600

https://trca.ca/parks/glen-rouge-campground/

There are two other campgrounds located within 2 kms of each other located 1/2 hour West of Toronto

Milton Heights Campground
Milton, Ontario

Milton Heights Campground

Toronto West KOA
Campbellville, Ontario

Campbellville, Ontario Campground | Toronto West KOA

Hope that helps

I had no idea that the Glen Rouge Campground existed! Thanks, kenandterry.

Hutch33id, if you are interested in going further east for a FHU site, you might consider the KOA in Brighton, ON.

Brighton, Ontario Campground | Brighton / 401 KOA

It's a little over an hour east of Toronto and right next door to beautiful Prince Edward County to the east for a nice scenic tour. They have 50A FHU sites that will easily accommodate your large 5er. It's a nice campground out in the country but I've found the water pressure can be a bit low. I don;t know what there policy on guests. You'd have to email them to find out.

Thanks Itat,

I'll take a look at these and the other recommendations over the long weekend. I need to get something booked soon as we are planning to be there for the July long weekend holiday.

I'm not too bothered about where we have to stop before then as we travel across from AB but it would be nice to have something confirmed for a week or so before we have to head back west.

Have a great Thanks Giving and thanks for the suggestion.

This campground is located west of Toronto, north of Hamilton, south of Guelph off highway 6.

A lot of what you want to do or see will dictate where you want to stay.
