Exclamation Ontario Hwy 144 Construction

Talking to a local chap on Sat' & he was back for the weekend from the road work on Hwy 144. Currently there is 30 klicks of roadwork between Cartier and the Watershed Truck Stop. I never thought to ask him if it was north or south of Halfway Lake Prov' Park. We were thru there 2 summers ago & there were rough stretches even where there wasn't ongoing roadwork.

Must be as bad as 637 to Killarney. We towed in there in June. People complain about the US Interstate system. Try one of these 2 lane roller coasters on for size!

The same trip 2 summers ago, 101 between Chapleau & 144 was pretty bad. Long overdue for work very little traffic on it. Last summer Hwy' 11 east of Hearst was rough. Now that does see a lot of traffic mostly transports hauling coast to coast.

I figured it out a few years ago that it's 40 klicks longer from North Bay to Nipigon via 11 as opposed to 17 (an easier drive but not as scenic).

We just returned from two weeks in Pennsylvania. Living in Windsor we crossed into Michigan at the ambassador bridge (Detroit). Interstate 75 south is like the mean streak at cedar point. Fricking crazy, at 100km your trailer is bouncing all over let alone the big thump every now and then in the potholes. Hit Ohio border and the road is like opening the beer fridge, heavenly...

Yeah, but, 637 is worth the drive - right?
