There are lots of fuel stops on this route: Shell/Bancroft, Maynooth, Hwy 127 and Whitney. You'll be lucky if see 10 vehicles on 127.

You could kill two birds with one stone by taking 115/28/127. You could tour Lake St. Peter, it's only 2 kilometers off 127 and will take you 10 minutes to tour it.
Thanks, Dave. Were the roads good along 28, 62 and 127?

Yes, 28, 62 and 127 were all great. The only delay, which was slight is Hwy. 60 in Whitney. They're doing some construction at a bridge and down to one lane......wasn't even a 5 minute delay.

Thanks. We may just take 35 one way and 28/62/127 the other if they are both in good condition.

You may want to come home 127/62/28 as the only dump station (other than Rock Lake) is on Hwy 60 east of Pog campground.

You can bike along the shoreline from ene to end, go the other direction and there is a lane going to a lighthouse and interperative centre. This loop goes on for 5-7 km around the point, and gives access to walking trails.

Bonus for Presquille this season as they rebuilt there dumpstation. Now a dual dump area and dual potable water filling stations, widened the area and seems they took some of the grade off.

I fully recommend "Dougalls" restraunt in Brighton for a night out, the crispy salmon bites are to die for.

There is two beaches but most of the time we swim right off of our campsite, there is flat rock there, need water shoes or something but for a quick deep its the place to be.

Kevin

I've heard that Dougalls restaurant is closing

Hmmm. We haven't been to Algonquin since we had our old 1999 Coleman Santa Fe popup. In those days we just used 5 gal. containers for water as needed. I didn't realize they don't have a dump station at each campground. Thanks for the heads up!

Where can you fill your FW tank?

We are camping overnight at Darlington Thursday. Going through the GTA against rush hour for half the trip and likely hit east side 8 pm. Then on to Kingston Friday morning.

I was thinking we'd take the blue portable waste tank to empty the grey tank mid-week but I don't think I want to tow it 5 km down Hwy. 60. We better conserve water!

Brian at 8pm going through Ajax,Whitby should not be a problem, you MAY ?get a little slow down at the new 412/407 cut off and there is construction at the Courtice road area , but like I said at 8 you should be ok.
