New Autoroute 30 is Fantastic

We just got back from a trip to the Maritimes on Aug. 8th and we took Autoroute 30 directly off Hwy 20 and around Montreal. What a treat! There was a bit of construction on the east end but no big deal.

Unfortunately my Garmin GPS didn't have that route in its database even though I had updated it before we left. I took the wrong exit on the way back and ended up going across Pont Mercier and into the west end of Montreal. The bridge which was under construction and down to 2 VERY NARROW lanes. I was so happy that I didn't take the side of the trailer off when passing the semi trucks going the other way across the bridge. It was very scary. I've never been so happy to get back to Ontario!

Should try cosy cabins campground in Woodstock. Great spot, drivetru, 3way, wifi,25$ a night

We stayed at Jellystone Park in Woodstock, NB for an overnight on the way to Bay of Fundy NP. It was OK for an overnight but I wouldn't stay more than that. Our drive through site was narrow and our door opened close to the neighbour's sewer dump. If you have young children, they will like the activities but its nor geared for older kids or a retired couple. The staff were friendly and the local truck stop had great food!

A few miles down the road near Fredericton, Mactaquac Prov. Park was very nice.

hwy 30 around montreal

a huge improvement around montreal!!

the $4.60(I think) is well worth it

much better than the old 540/40 tunnel route, the view from the bridge even at 2 am is fantastic

If you're coming from the West you can bypass the bridge toll by turning earlier at exit 14 to Bouldevard Monseigneur Langlois. This will take you to 530 which turns into 30.
