Our 2017 Summer Journey
In a short time I will be heading out for our summer 2017 journey around the country. I have checked out my Georgetown motorhome from top to bottom and only have a few things left to do before the trip.
This year I have added a dash camera which will record lots of roadways and maybe save a few video in some nice places. Yes, it is there in case someone does something stupid in front of me to protect me and show the police and insurance company. Hope this never is needed but it will be fun to see the videos later.
Anyway, I'm ready to leave NOW to hit the road but have to wait a bit.
Here are a few of the places I plan to visit.
Las Vegas Nevada
Yellowstone National Park
Great Falls MT
Calgary Alberta Canada
Lake Louise AB Canada
Ice Fields AB Canada
Jasper AB Canada
Edmonton AB Canada
Seattle WA down the coast into Northern California.
After this I have no idea. lol
Should be about 6,000 miles in 60 plus days and hope to see you around.

You picked a good year to check out our National Parks as admission is free this year.
In case you didn't know this already.... Brewster offers packages for some must see attractions and you'd save a few bucks than buying separately. CLICK ME
The Banff Gondola, Icefields and Skywalk are must do's

After I get back home in Arizona in August I head back out in Sept and head to Texas and the Texas FROG Roundup in Kerrville Texas then on to Rayne Louisiana for another ray that should have about 250 rigs.
Then 1 week on beach in Corpus Christi Texas coast and should make it home for Thanksgiving. lol

Yes on the National Parks and Yes we have scheduled all of that.
Now we just need to make it there safely.

You should consider the Province of Quebec as well, particularly the Eastern Townships and the north shore of the St-Lawrence up to Sept-Īles and the Mingan region. Check it out! Good travels.

I keep the dash cam running at all times. I always save the last video or two
of approaching and pulling into the campground. Label them with the date, time the name of the campground campground as I find after three or four days/campgrounds, it's hard to picture/remember a camp ground.

Quebec will be another time as well as Vancouver BC.
I really do enjoy the trips into Canada and the great people we meet.

Enjoy Calgary!! If you are going to be up in this area for Stampede, you will have a great time! Then heading to the mountains will be a refreshing break from the craziness that happens when the city pretends to be cowboys

Iggy, wishing you and you travelling companions have a great time while driving through Canada and staying in Calgary. Stampede time is crazy busy but you'll have lots to see and do. Drop me a pm if there is anything specific you need to know. Don't over do the Stampede Breakfasts.

We are spending Canada Day in Granview RV Park in Granum Alberta.
Will be going to Fort Mcload for the today celebration.

Making the same trip last of August through first half of September. Tips/warnings/good parks/bad parks? Also, is the US Labor Day a crowd/reservation problem in Canada?

I live just north west of Calgary and personally, I would avoid any CG close to the city. I certainly wouldn't recommend one for you because you'd hate me for ever. by far and away, the best CG that I know of that is within striking distance of Calgary is Bow Rivers Edge in Cochrane. This is at the side of the Bow River but not directly adjoining it. There is a nice walking/cycle path that leads you in to town and lots of space to walk a dog it you have one.
Labor Day will be busy (we celebrate that too) so I would certainly recommend that you book in advance. If you're looking at going to Banff, Tunnel Mountain is about the best you can find that has full facilities - again, book in advance. The park entry is free this year but the camping fees still have to be paid.
