We were at Rideau Acres several years ago. The owners grandson was 3 sites down. They partied all night with youth walking past our site till early morning yelling and make all kinds of noise. Because it was the owners grandson security would not do any thing about the noise. We complained in the morning and the response from the girl in the office was if you don't like it leave with out a refund. Will never go back.
If you find a CG you like Google Earth it and see what it looks like.

We have stayed at Algonquin Trails a few times, excellent CG, quiet, owners are great, German bakery just outside their frontgate and LCBO just around the corner next to grocery store. Nice area for doing things and close to Algonquin PP. Ivy Lea KOA was great

We're there every year for Canada Day !
We're from Kingston but have never tried Rideau Acres. The thought of camping 15 minutes down the road just never made sense to me. That all changed this past weekend when we looking for a place to go on short notice and the other half suggested we give it a try. I left site selection in the clerks hands and we ended up getting a great full service site close to the water. The park is going through some renovations adding some trails around lookout mountain and some new waterfront full service sites on the northern edge. The beach looks like it's been expanded as well with some new sand. The park is easily 1/2 seasonals and I find it hit and miss on how accepting of transients they'll be. The few we met were very friendly. The park also has a clean heated pool with lifeguard, some decent trails and a 9 hole frisbee golf course. The park has lots of resident waterfowl including ducks, geese, guinea hens, pigeons and a group of peacocks that wander the grounds. One of the ducks (Princess) has taken over the pool and had no problem paddling around while we swam.

Last but not least the rates are very reasonable at $44.50 a night for full service.

We're already planning a return trip during the week in the summer when the family will camp while I commute to work and back.
