I suspect you're right about the summer temps though. I've been living too long in the icebox to be tolerating southern summers.

Someday, I would really love to visit the Alamo -as well as the Custer battlefield, Fort Phil Kearny, Beecher's Island, etc, etc. Someday...

Seriously though, if you want to come camp among grizzly bears instead of gila monsters (or whatever it is all y'all have down there) I'm always up (work permitting) for playing guide.

Y Don- I'm going to save your road suggestion post. That sounds like really good advice from someone who is familiar with the roads. I appreciate knowing of the alternative. Thank you.
