Time to go again

New differential and new brakes on the Avalanche. Guess it's time to pick up daughter and grandson for a 4 day test run to Longpoint Provincial Park. Should be fun with the little guy there and his dad may even come down for a day or two so we can show him how to fish. Just kidding... He's the pro and I'm the amateur. He owns a fishing and hunting store so if we catch a bigger fish he will have to post the pictures in his store. Here's hoping for a good outcome. Old Guys

You better hope this doesn't happen:

“Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish, and he will sit in the boat and drink beer all day."

The nephew (he's 13) loves to fish. If he's not @ the trailer in their trailer park, he's down @ the dock fishing.

A good reason I bass fish, it requires constant casting and thus keeps my beer costs down. Now, trolling for trout, that takes a lot of beer!

I seem to remember a similar saying that was something like "Build a man a fire and he stays warm for a night, set a man on fire and he stays warm for life...." I may not have it entirely correct though with my memory.

Thanks everyone. Very funny stuff. I think he gives a discount to all his customers as his accountant says the store has never made any money and they seem to live off my daughter's wages. I think we will keep him around just the same though as she thinks he is a keeper. Maybe we can have him stuffed and mounted. Old Guys

Just a thought, they didn't tell you to run that "new differential" 500 miles before towing did they? Towing is usually not the way to break in new gears as in differentials and transmissions. Sorry if I rained on your parade.

Old Guys is in western Ontario & so is his destination. It's a relatively flat tow, so I don't think it'll be too hard on the diff'.

Windrider.....I hope not as we were just east of Montpelier Vt, when the old one went and we still had to get back to home base northeast of London Ontario. All they said was to use it a bit and then rechange the fluid to get any remaining metal filings out and be sure to use synthetic gear oil. Old Guys

Home again, home again, jiggedy jig. Back home, safe and sound. Warm (almost too warm) sunny weather, nice quiet campground, large trailer sites, clean, great beach with lots of sand dunes, nice park overall but be sure you can get a site before you go as it is quite popular. Will probably go again as it only a couple of hours from home on secondary highways, so not much traffic to contend with. Sorry, no pictures as I spent most of my time reading and just relaxing. P.S. The best fishing is from a boat, canoe, kayak etc. but they have a very nice boat launch area. Old Guys
