2010 Lexington 255ds changing dining area to sofa

We recently purchased a Lexington 255ds and I would like to know if anyone changed out the dining area for a sleeper sofa? If so was it hard to do and what are the pros and cons of doing great this?

When sitting at the dinette do you look out the side window much? With sofa you will look at the kitchen and entry door. Our slide has to be out a little to set the table poles into the sockets on the floor. When eating we have to lean forward somewhat if the slide is fully out.
We like our new to us Lexi but feel the sofa is a weak spot. Don't think we want to sit at a dinette all the time either but I'm just mentioning some things to think about.

Thanks. I didn't think about seating arrangements and also I think if we are on the road and want to pull over to eat, we wouldn't have to put the slide out.

We don't have to put the slide all the way out. Only maybe 6" I hope. Don't think it will be a problem in rest areas.

i hope

We have the same RV with a sofa and I'm going to remove it for [2] chairs. One thing that I did not like was the position of the TV in the entertainment center over the driver seat when watching from the sofa.
Siting on the sofa puts us in a bad location to see the images on the TV, hence another reason for the change.
I had a roof leak so I'm in the process of rearranging the TV, and entertainment center for a better view. The TV is now on a swivel mount that pulls out and rotates for a better view throughout the RV. I also have the bedroom TV on a swivel mount for the same reason.

I was hoping to change our Sunseeker 2500TS from Dinette to Sofa Sleeper,,,
After taking a close look I decided it was something I could not do !!! Unlike your Lexington there is a long outside storage compartment under the Dinette !!! And it sets on a raised platform,,, with storage drawers !!!

Ours came with the sofa and I like it, we have a small folding table 3x2 that we set in front of the sofa. Simpler and faster to setup than the table that comes with it. The view is not great... Search the site, another user switched out the sofa for two recliners, this looked like a great concept.

My 255GTS Love Seat Mod

I removed the terribly uncomfortable couch in my 255GTS and replaced it with a wallhugger loveseat that is like being in your living room! Actually I have made MANY mods to my unit, but this one was one of the best. We have a pair of those nice wood TV tables to use when eating... I will leave the link to my mods page...

The one I got from Camping World is apparently made exclusively for RV use. Not only did it fit like a glove, it comes in 6 pieces. Two seats, two backs, the center console with it's back piece. A normal loveseat will not go through the door...
Just FYI.
