battery tray

We have a 2008 Lexington and want to check the water in the batteries. We've had the coach for three months and can't figure out how to pull out the sliding tray the batteries sit on. We know you lift up the sliding latch in front and have done that but the tray or drawer still catches. Is there a latch we need to release somewhere else? Why doesn't FR make detailed owner's manuals for their products?

No other latches. Could be rusty like mine was. Just lift and pull.
