Change to Lexington 265 towing capacity? length?

I'm in the market for a Lexington 265.

When comparing various model years I see that starting in 2014 the towing capacity changed from 5,000 lbs to 7,500 lbs. Yet the GCWR and GVWR remained constant from 2011-2015. Is it simply that the hitch is stronger on 2014 and 2015? Or are there other changes that increased the towing capacity that I am not seeing?

Also, I see that in 2011 the 265 is listed as 27' long. Starting in 2012 the 265 is listed as 28', yet the floorplans look identical. Did the 265 get longer by a foot in 2012 or was it simply that the way length was measured changed?
