Dimming lights

We have a 2011 Lexington RV. Some time ago, the interior "house" lights Started constantly dimming then brightening, dimming then brightening. We never use more than one appliance at a time. We have a surge protector. Is this an inverter problem? It has been replaced once already & seems to run hot. Any idea why this dimming then brightening happens and how to correct the problem? Thanks.

You didn't mention if you were dry camping or were plugged in on shore power. If the dimming is only when plugged in it's probably the inverter.

Check your battery or batteries.
One or more may be getting bad.

Your lights dimming is your converter possibly overheating and shutting down
"Lights dimming" then when it cools it comes back on "lights getting brighter"

Another possibility is your converter fan that cools your converter has died allowing your converter to over heat.

If it's a wfco converter it's a good possibility that the fan is the issue.

Load check the battery/batteries first.
As well as check the water levels.

"Load check the battery/batteries first."

Is this different than just testing w/ a voltmeter on the pos and neg of the battery?

Yes it is different .
A load tester will load the battery as to find its condition.

Sometimes dimming of lights means there is a poor ground somewhere.
