Finally spent some nights in the Lexington

We bought this 295 GTS in mid Sept. . With a lot of issues, dealer problems & a Minnesota winter, we finally took it out. Having own a 38 ft. class A , we didn't know how the down sizing would work out. Plenty of outside storage. Very crowded in the shower & bathroom area! Short on storage area in bedroom & kitchen area. But we can survive. The number one problem was the seal on the toilet wouldn't hold water in the stool! I knew it had a problem there & I thought I had it fixed. I have to put in a new seal. Lucky an outhouse was close by!
The water pump was very noisy & not enough water flow. It's mounted on a 1/4 plywood under the bed! Maybe a bigger pump & mounting it on something with more cushion. Any thoughts?
The Concertone started acting up when playing a DVD but finally played a whole movie without anymore trouble. I don't have any great hopes with that POS !
We pulled out before the rains came. I'm not too sure on those seals on the compartments. I did have the dealer replace the seal just below the water heater. The replacement seal is a lot better than the original. One piece! No seam on top! Too make a good seal on any of these, all latches latched. All locks , locked.
It was nice to back this smaller rig into these small US Forest campsites.

Dave-I replied to your last post on the water pump, but I think you are thinking in the right direction to deal with the water pump racket. Even the upgraded "whisper quiet" model had some mechanical noise. I think that installing some kind of insulation material around the pump would cut down on noise even further and am hoping that someone has tackled this. When a partner must sleep or is sick, the noise becomes an issue.

I have been traveling for 6 weeks through lots of weird, stormy weather and twice, I brought my slides in during high winds and rain. No water that I can see has gotten inside or in the compartments so far.

I agree about the downsizing. After my DH passed, I downsized from a 40' diesel to my 27' vehicle and have never looked back. Yes, the bathroom is teensy even for a female frame but I love the compactness and being able to go anywhere without worrying about size.

Dried out, shrunken potty seals are probably to be expected where you live and I have seen discussion on forums that talk about how to preserve the seals during storage so they remain functional. You don't want to do THAT job too frequently!

Seals always seem to be an issue. There is a new Sealand 310 toilet where the seal is accessible from the top. You just reach down, pull the seal and put a new one in. It may not solve the bad seal issue, but it sure makes it easy to change one.
