I fought generator problems for a year and a half! First my local RV repair said it was a bad carburetor. So I had them replace it ($550.00). Got it back and had the same problem, ran 10-15 minutes and choked out. I did some NET research and found if carb has been replaced, it has to be the computer control board. Then I read that "Flight Systems" has a much better than ONAN factory computer board, so I ordered and installed myself. ($350) And what a job. They built the geny around it! Guess what, I still had the problem!!! I was now ready to replace the whole thing. Well Flight Systems has a very good Tech Supt. dept. After working with them they decided it HAD to be a bad fuel pump due to all that had been done so far. Bottom line, my problem from the start was a bad fuel pump! $60 on eBay!!! Only problem was it is located under that computer board they built the generator around!!! I am now pretty good at working in that area with my FINGERTIPS! The good news is, I should have no more generator trobs. One absolute fact with generators is to run them. I run mine every 15 days under load for 15-20 minutes.
