Generator cooling

Does it make any sense to keep the access door to the generator open when using the unit for an extended period of time? In other words, would the generator run cooler?

We were told when we bought our Georgetown to leave the door closed. They said it was designed for proper airflow with the door closed.

Thanks for the info. This is my first and the salesman was awful. He gave me a three "sees" delivery (see your keys, see your unit, see you later). I'm finding stuff out on my own and from this forum. Thanks for the help.
