Interior renovation Lex 283ts

The interior trim pieces on my slideouts are those cheap fake wood pieces with mahahony looking tape. One of them kept pulling off because it was stapled poorly.

Anyone here upgraded those with real wood? I'm thinking about doing this, then painting them. In fact, I'm thinking of repainting the existing wall covering to lighten up the overall look.

Any thoughts or tips. Thanks
