Just bought a 2007 Lexington 300SS

Hello
My wife and I just joined the ranks of Forest River owners with the purchase of a Lexington 300SS.
Had a smooth ride from NC to FL and love the experience so far.
The only thing we noticed, is that the Dometic A/C (don't know if it's 13.500 or 15000 BTU, yet) is working really hard working to cool the unit down.
We had a 25' Holiday Rambler before and it always got cold as a walk in freezer.
Now, it takes hours after parking and hooking up to shore power to even get it a few degrees colder. Anyone experience the same issue?
I checked the filter, the coils etc for dust and obstructions but everything looks really clean.
Looking forward to other comments on this issue.

We had to have the first airconditioner replaced. Still isn't comfortable in our Texas heat. Its works best if we park under a tree. We have put solar shields on all the windows, covered the front with outside and inside covers, also stuffed extra padding around the slide outs when we are parked. We have talked to Camping World, they suggest a second air unit that cycles with the front one. A very expensive solution. Shouldn't be necessary in a 2008.
Surly there is a better answer, our Lexington is only 26' with a 15000 unit. We had a 26' fifth wheel that was very cold even in the hottest of summer with the same size unit. If you find a solution please let us know.
