Just purchased 2006 Lexington 255DS with 15k miles

All,

I am not new to camping or RVs, but I am new to motorhomes.

What should I know before I travel?

Anyone have a good pre/post trip checklists?

I received no manuals with the motorhome, any good references on service and maintenance for the 2006 models?

Thanks,

Bill

We have 2005 255ds, I think You can get the Lexington manual at forest river site and the same for the chassis thru ford. I would think the same for the components. Congratulations, We love ours.

Welcome to the site from SW Idaho.

Get the model number and brand name of your appliances, you should find what you need online.

Have the fan belts checked for cracks and the cooling hoses for weak spots.
Oil, air, fuel filters changed.

Make sure the generator has been serviced.

Tires aired up to specs.
Windshield washer fluid.
All lights inside and out working with at least two spare bulbs of each type.

Lexie 255 DS

I have the Lexington 255 GTS. We have had all the way up to a 45' quad slide diesel, and have worked our way back down to our 255. We love it! My wife is not afraid to drive it either! If your local Ford dealer also has an RV Lift and services MH's, I would have them go over it. Besides the items that have been mentioned, I would also have the Ford dealer do the Transmission hot flush and fluid replacement. You will want to carefully check the perimeter roof seal.

I am also sharing my Lexie mods info. If you are handy, some of these may appeal to you:

Rick,

Thanks for the advice and thanks for the mods! I will be doing the TV mount and the bath door. I'm debating on a shower door (but want to try a few times to see how tight the shower is).
