Queen short mattresses

We just purchased a 300ss and have question on the bed. It seems uncomfortable. We like a softer mattress. If we add a four inch mattress pad will the queen short fitted sheets fit?

We bought this: Perfect Harmony Mattress Topper - Short Queen - Carpenter Co 31374538639 - Bed Pads & Mattresses - Camping World

We sleep much better.

The sheets still fit, but they are tight around the corners.

If you put a 4" mattress topper or memory foam on it, regular 60" X 80" queen sheets will fit better. They will be a little loose, but not bad. Cheaper than "camper queen", too!

Will that 4" topper bump into the bottom of the curtains? I just got a 2.5" topper, and ran into that issue.

I have a walk-around camper queen, so I haven't the foggiest.

Thanks for all inputs! We don't know which mattress we have as it is a used 2007 GTS MODEL. Will follow through on thoughts given here.

We added a 2" foam topper from Walmart to our unit; but given a choice I would definitely recommend 4" foam topper. Walmart had the best price when we purchased ours last fall.

My queen is against the back wall and side wall. A thick mattress pad is definitely an issue with curtain rod clearance.

In January I bought my first ever RV. It's a 2007 255 GTS. Haven't used it yet, just getting familiar, but it looks like the bed is going to be a problem. We haven't bought anything yet, but it looks like the Tempur-pedic 4" topper is the way we'll go. By the way, have you figured out where to put the sewer hose? The little hole on the left isde is only 18" deep! I can't figure out where to put the hose.

We just bought a 2" memory foam topper from Target for our mattress. We have the shorter "camper" mattress and we had to cut about 4 inches off the length of the foam. The camper sheets fit, but just barely. I can't imagine them working with a 4" topper. We'll be trying out the new set up this coming weekend on our first trip of the season. I'm hoping for any improvement! Last year, it took me two nights to adjust before I could fall asleep on the mattress we have.

I have Original Mattress factory stores in the area. Can you give me a ballpark figure on the cost of the custom mattress. I'd like to go in that direction rather than a topper if the money works out.
Thanks for posting.

I bought one for my old trailer and it made a diff. I still have it I had to cut the corner off because of the bathroom door

You can order a mattress from foambymail.com and they will make it in any size, thickness and firmness you desire. Very reasonably piced. I was quite happy with the one I purchased from them.

I've ordered 2 bunk mattresses from foambymail.com and my in-laws were very pleased with them. I'm actually awaiting an order for another for my daughter's bunk and replacement cushions for my dinette. I highly recommend them.

Mattress & Sewer connection

Thanks for the continuing tips on the mattress. Sorry, I don't know about the sewer connection issue yet. We still have so much snow in northern Michigan that I haven't even picked up my unit from the dealer yet!

We had to have a custom queen made to fit under the closets on our GTS 26'. So worth it.

At the Rally last summer we bought a memory foam short queen topper from a vendor. It made a wonderful difference on our 283GTS and was about $150
