Saber rear luggage rack

Do you have a square tube bar that stands upright and pins to the rack?

Pool noodle on the vertical to protect the bikes, ratchet straps to secure bikes to rack/vertical post.

IMO, if the rack rests on the bumper, I would not use it for anything that could NOT be secured in such a manner as there would be NO vibration on the rack from the bikes, etc. To check it out, have someone follow you a few miles.

I installed some eye bolts to ours. Bought some tie down straps from a motorcycle shop and secure the bikes to the rack with ratchet straps. I also replaced the factory clevis pins, or whatever they're called, with larger ones from Tractor Supply. They fit snugly so very little bounce going down the road. Click image for larger version

Any bounce at all will eventually break the bumper loose.

The bracket is not bolted to the bumper, it's bolted to a brace that is welded to the frame. Came from the factory this way. Click image for larger version

Yes. The rack was factory installed and has a weight limit of 400lbs. It has 4 grooves on the rack for bicycle wheels.

Thinking of getting my Ultralight frame certified for the bike rack. If they approve away I go!

We carry two bicycles with us all the time and I use bungee cords around the tires and the bike rack and then use more cords around the frames of the bikes and secure to the upright post. Haven't lost one yet. I applied felt to the upright post to prevent scratches but I like the idea of the pool noodle. May have to do a slight modification to bring it up to Silhouette Penny standards!

I anchored a black box on this "bike" frame and carried 2 Honda generators to Alaska. There was just enough bounce from the rubber stoppers that it cracked the welding between the frame & the bumper. Perhaps the TSC fix will prevent that from happening to you.
