Sewer hose storage ideas

We originally installed an expandable Santitube on the rear bumper but it didn't really hold up to well. It's very thin tubing so it buckled under the AZ heat. So now I have to rethink things.

I was going to take the flip up Doors off of the ends of the Santitube to use on a regular 4" black PVC but the inside diameter is too small for our RHINO sewer hose connections. Plus the outside diameter on a 4" pvc is 4.5" which is smaller than the Santitube Doors I took off. With the RHINO hose we need at lease a 4.5" I.D. pipe.

Would be interested in seeing pictures on how and what others are using on their Lexington RVs.

Pic's would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I just did this yesterday. So easy. Go to Lowes/Home Depot (etc) and get a 5" post for vinyl fence. get two caps. I painted the white vinyl black and used two large hose clamps to attach to frame. I used two frame clamps to attach the hose clamps to frame so I didn't have to drill...

X2 on the 5" fence post sleeve. It will be found in white looks like we're all painting them black. Click image for larger version

We did something similar in our Georgetown - but we also added a "slide" made out of plastic gutter (with 2 end caps attached) and a handle to make it easier to pull the sewer hose out of the fencepost. We have 2 10' sections of Rhino hose and it all fits plus the hose cleaner attachment. The 90 degree elbow does NOT fit however, so that is stored in a different location.

i'd highly recommend the slide - it's super easy to make with some rivets and a drill.

Chrisandgarren can you please post a pic of location of where you put hose? I have a Georgetown and have made the container but can't find a place to put it. Thanks

Put 8' 5" fence post on back bumper with 4 long hose clamps. I stick in the hoses and put the caps on and we're under way. I do put 2 self drilling screws in each end cap just to make sure they can't fall off. Don't want to lose my hoses on the highway.

ID:	1447686"x"6" white vinyl fence post covers that are 8' long. Attach to frame with 4 "L" brackets.

Get end caps and tool box latches. Rivet them on. Make sure to use an appropriate washer backer on the rivet so it doesn't work it's way loose.

Love this idea! Assume you have one latch on each side or is it hinged?

5" SDR 35 pipe and caps
Can't find this type of pipe in local hardware stores, had to go to a specialty pipe business.
The other end stops short of the drive shaft by about an inch or two, never had a problem with this setup.

Look what I've done to my 2012 Lexi265DS

Abouth 30 inches behind the wheels, I found that the C Steel frame was already drilled. So using treaded rods and folded (by myself) sleel bars I fixed the 5in. PVC post tube and inserted Vynil gutters for easy assist. The gutter also can be used to maintain the sewer hose the proper way.

I added these to my trailer. A single one, then another one. After that, I painted the caps. Sorry that they are out of order.

The sqare tube is located 30 inches behind the rear wheels. I found the idea on the web for trailer and %th whells.

I have what might be a dumb question (apologize in advance)...what's wrong with using the the bumper itself to store the hose?
I have the rhino hose and fittings, and it all fits inside just fine. I did replace the bumper caps with new rubber ones (2 years ago) after hearing that they might pop off and have never had any issues.

Sorry, I didn't see the post location. I'm not familiar with the Lexington, so the bumper storage might not be possible.

Some Lexington models, as my 2012 265DS, don't have the «square metallic tube bumper»; The rear is a molded end cap. The provided sewer hose storage bin is a premolded 22inches long x 4in dia tube: useless.

Sliding the hose in and out of the bumper tube will eventually wear holes in it. I did the white fence post thing too, but added a 5" U shaped gutter inside to lay the hoses on, and now I can slide them in and out of the tube without damage.

Sure! Its diagonal from the propane tank to the battery box. Sits on the frame, held in place with heavy duty cable ties.
