v-10 tuner

Has anyone tuned their v-10 ford. I see the adds and didn't know if it will help with mileage and shift points as they say. Have a 28 foot and pull a 16 foot enclosed with trike in it.

I have the 5 Star tune on our 2012 Ford based Lexi. Tow a Subaru XV.
Yes, it does help alot with reprograming the transmission shift points, especially when going up grades, hills, ect. Tranny dosen't go fro overdrive into the "screaming 3rd" when going up a grade. It will now drop into 4th, and then if needed drop into 3rd.
It adds a small amount of hp, maybe 8-10 but it's intent is not to increase hp, but to work the tranny. HP increase is noticeable when under hard acceleration, like an on ramp to x-way, or passing.
Dosen't really "save" fuel.
Very happy with it and would do it again. Worth the bucks.

I use the tow/haul all the time...very rarely turn it off.
These rigs are almost loaded out to the max, so you are almost always "hauling" in addition to towing.
Others will argue or have their own opinion, but it's best for you to experiment and find whats comfortable for you.
Same goes with the cruise control. I have found with the 5 Star, the cruise control , on slight grades, keeps up, and only drops off on larger grades. If its pegged at 65 mph, at the top of an overpass type grade on an x-way, it might drop off to 62-63, but I'll still be in overdrive, rather then the tranny dropping to "screaming 3rd" to maintain speed.
Go to IRV2 web site, under Vendors Deals forum and you'll find hundreds of posts about the 5 Star tune.

Here's a forum search for "five stars" (tuner for the V10) on the Georgetown sub-forum.
