Both of my units are ducted and have a thermostat. The thermostat in the bedroom has a furnace setting and the one in the living room says heat pump.

X2 the dometic 15k heatpump model does not use a heat strip. It is in fact a heat pump.

I like this quiet model. A normal conversation can be held and the tv can be on all at normal levels. Rumor is an even quieter model is on the way.

Depending on moisture in air etc may get what looks like steam out for a little bit at first. Ours did raise humidity some then just warm air after that.

A simple way is to look at your thermostat. If it has settings for cool, heat, and furnace, you have the heat pump. If it only has cool and furnace, you have an ac only top unit.

We are fair weather South campers so I use the heat pump in spring and fall
But,these last trips to the mountains can get cold
If you think you will need you gas furnace at all for a trip take the time to run it during the season to burn off any dirt and dust
First time I ever used mine it was really cold out in March (Fla no less)
The burning dirt smoked the whole camper up and the smoke detectors were going off
I had to turn on the Fantastic Fan and open all the windows, while freezing my #%€ Off [emoji23]
Have fun!

So I was able to check ours out yesterday,,, and yes it has a heat pump !!!
It was about 40 degrees yesterday and light rain,,, when I started the Heat Pump it was like turning on the A/C,,, cold air for quite some time until it finally warmed up !!!
Would not be something to use in cold weather,,, it would take forever to warm out little Sunseeker !!! Maybe ok after you heated your unit with the furnace first ???
I think we will stick with our little ele heater,,, and some sweats !!!

Cool.
Yeah we used it in our Forester to take the chill off couple mornings. Much more than that will need furnace or heater but always good to have options, especially those that don’t use propane.
