15K BTU AC sufficient?

We spent a lot of time at Hershey going through the Sun seekers, but it seemed that the AC's in these units of 31ft with slides weren't keeping the units very cool. Granted the door were open more than closed and plenty of people milling in and out.

Do those with the largest Sunseekers have problems with the AC keeping up on hot days?

I have a 3010DS and have had no trouble at all. We usually camp in shaded spots but even when we have been in full sun in 90+ weather, it has been fine and my wife likes it COLD.

In 2014 3051s, 15k unit keeps front portion cold but back bedroom could be better.

My rule is over 25 feet add a second air. I would rather not need it than need it and not have it. Minimal cost. If they want to sell you the RV they should add it at price of AC unit, about $800.00.

My old Glendale Royal Classic was 28ft with only a 13k A/C unit and you would have ice hanging from your nose when that thing was cranked up high. The new 3051 roof ducts seem to be lacking in the main bedroom with the sliding door closed.

Jfrauts, how is it with the door open? Does enough air migrate to the back?

We have a 2015 3010ds. No problem keeping it as cold as we want even when it's in the upper 90s.

At first I thought it odd that the thermostat is in the back but it works and keeps all areas cool.

That would be a challenge on a 30 amp rv.

Right. While shopping for our 5'er, it seemed that all units that had 2 AC units also had 50 amp service.
Other than that, I can caution that if you oversize the AC unit(s) you will cool down before dehumidifying. Any AC unit needs to run long enough to properly dehumidify before over cooling the space. Over sizing your AC unit will leave you feeling cool and clammy with low temps and high relative humidity.

Maybe so, I don't really know what it takes to upgrade to 50 amps. My brother did it on a 36 foot park model he bought with one air, 30 amps and it would not cool very well.

I have a 42 foot toy hauler with 2 but not cooling the garage area with them so coolin about 28 - 30 feet with 2 and above 90 can be a chalange but I like it cool. I do have a 12 foot ceiling in the maon area and a loft bed.

It originally only had one and the other was added in the upper bedroom. It does have a 50 amp service and most likey came with it. I have an access door to the garage from the side that a window unit fits in perfect so I am really running 3 AC units. A 15000, a 13500 and a 10000 window unit.

I have a 3010ds with the 13.5k btu ac. I think the 15k btu would be better, but no complaints amd im in florida

No problems cooling down 3170 in 90 degree temps and high humidity in the middle of a field running generator.

With the door open it does cool well but with the kids in tow we keep the door closed for some ma @ pa time

No problem with our 3050 and standard 13.5K unit.
