Part of the problem is lighting. You can look at any picture and depending on the lighting (indoor/outdoor/time of day) gets a new color.
About 2 years ago we did a paint scheme (Blue, silver, black). The brochure cover shot was taken at sunset. So many people loved that paint...but it came off black/tan/sepia color. So we actually created that color the next year because the cover shot was so popular. Hopefully the pictures I posted on the Facebook page helped. Those are shot outdoors in decent lighting. Still no better way than to see it in person. There is metallic in some of the paints so it really changes in direct sunlight.
