2013 Sun Seeker 2300 rear TV mounting

There is surposed to be a "backer board" just above the power/coax plugs for the rear TV. On mine that board is not present. I have tried using very small "pilot" holes and 2 different stud finders but no luck at all. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Attached is a PDF of the drawing I got from FR showing the refrigerator cabinet and the location of the backer board for mounting a TV on the side of the cabinet (facing bed). I successfully used this information to mount a TV in the location.

Thank you for a super quick reply. That is where the salesman said it was. As I thought there is just not a backer board in my motor home i guess.

There is a slight gap between the cabinet and the backer board. They are not tight against each other. Make sure you went deep enough with your probing.

First of all, thanks for hanging in there with me. I did as you suggested using an ice pick. At 1 1/2" in, I hit another very flexible board. The holes i have drilled so far start just above the power/coax face plates and go straight up about 7 1/2". Same results as I indicated above. I drilled one more hole about 8" above the face plates and did indead hit a strong board about 1/4" or less behind the panel. Is this where the dwg. indicates the board starts? My stud finder seems to be sticking its tongue out at me. It has been little if any help.

That should be the bottom of the board that you hit. It is about 12 inches above the bed platform if I recall. The board is yellow on the drawing. Check distance from floor or opening for refrigerator. The lag screws that come with most TV mounts are too long. You're not going through 5/8" drywall to hit solid wood. You are in solid wood about about a 1/4" in.

You could always do a nice stained board and go from one side to the other where you know end wall studs are. Mount TV bracket to the board
