2018 3270s Bedroom Reading Lights

Does anyone know if the 2 reading lights in the back bedroom are supposed to only work when the main bedroom light is on (via the light switch)? It seems to make more sense for the reading lights to always be powered and be controlled by the toggle switches at the base of the reading lights.

Mine has a small button in the middle of the light cover to turn it on

Thanks for the response. Do you have to have the light switch on the wall turned on for the switch on the reading light to work or can you turn the reading light on with the “bedroom ceiling” light off?

On my 2017 3050s the reading lights are able to be turned on/off independently of the switch. The switch controls the ceiling light.
