2250 / 2251 replacement Mattress
After much searching and reviewing of floor plans my wife and I decided the 2250 LE is the RV for us. Fits our weekend and occasional week long camping trip plans. Turns out finding what model we wanted was the easy part, the hard part was finding one in Alaska! After searching we found 2013 2250 in Anchorage that was used as a rental unit last season. Not excited about buying a RV that was used as a rental but the options here are limited, no dealer for new Forest Rivers RV in Alaska! Flying down and driving a RV back from the lower 48 would eat into the little time we have to enjoy the RV and reduce the budget we have for purchase/use this summer.
Which leads me to the reason I started this thread. Since the RV was a rental we would want to replace the rear mattress with a new set. Is it possible to buy locally replacement mattress or are they a dealer only item? What options are there for replacing the mattress?

Not to change the topic, but we we're looking for a Forest River dealer in Anchorage, as we're moving there shortly. Came across ABC Motorhomes who advertises new Forest River products for sale, including listings in RV Trader. Did you happen to try them?

When I checked the Forest River web site they didn't list any authorized dealers in Alaska.
If you are not in Alaska I would recommend buying in the lower 48 and driving up/use the ferry. Everything cost more in Alaska.

You need to measure the size (L & W) then order a Memory Foam Mattress in a Box. You will have a hard time finding the Bastard size mattress in AK. Shipping a mattress to AK will be pricey! CW has good prices on the M/F mattress. Youroo!!

Since the 2250 mattress is the special purpose-built, split two-piece foam mattress, I think you are going to have to buy it from a FR dealer. I notice some Coachmen MH's have what looks to be the exact same one.

Can you have something made by the Foam Factory? I've bought from them a few times- a phone call to them has helped answer all sorts of questions that I had.
Welcome to Foam Factory, Inc.

We currently live in Oklahoma and own a 3170 DS. Gonna drive the whole way and take about 2 weeks to do it.

Appreciate all the responses so far. However I'm no closer to knowing if there is a replacement mattress other then the factory mattress.
Any 2250 owners replace their mattress yet? If so what did you use?

ABC is the authorized dealer up there. They have units on order for retail sale, but they don't start shipping up until March. See if they'll order you an upgraded 2250 mattress and they can ship it up in one of their units to save the freight.
Sales location is the one on Old Seward highway. I've been there a few times. Nice guys.
