Ford V10 is stronger but the Chevy will be fine with the small 2500 model MH.

I have the 2015 Forester with the 4500 chevy chassis. It accelerates good runs smooth and quite and dosen't pull to the right like the 2014 Thor Ford that I test drove, more room on the passenger side and gives 9.6 mpg without a toad.

We are very pleased with the Chevy. No issues with under power. Plenty of acceleration and excellent shifting with a very good 6 speed transmission. We have had no concerns with travel in the Ozark mountains--haven't tried the Rockies yet. The Chevy is available only on the smaller MHs not because of lack of power but because Chevy chassis isn't rated for the heavier load of larger MH.

The Chevy has more than enough power to get our 2013 2450S up and down hills pulling a Mazda 3 on a tow dolly. It is fairly quiet on the highway and very easy to drive. I think the seats sit better than the Fords also except no rotate option on the Chevy. On the way to Florida we pulled our car through the great Smoky mountains with no power issues at all.
