Shower Skylight Revisited
Since I was cutting some refletix I decided to add a top layer to the cabin and shower plugs as mentioned in the previous post. Here is a photo of the bathroom plug with the new layer cured and ready to install.

Just got RV Armor. Covered up the bathroom skylight altogether. Amazing. Brand new skylights and when he removed the sealant you cannot believe the cracks around the edges, and the sealant that laid over the edges yet was not adhering well. No wonder these things are so prone to leaks.

True statement. I was meticulous with maintaining the lap sealant and my Coachmen skylight still leaked. Exactly the same cracks you described. I ended up flattening out the old sealant and covering it with dicor tape, then sealed the tape.

This cabinet has always been a thorn in my side! We ordered the same hinges and installed today. Makes the cabinet so much easier to access. Thank you so much for posting the exact hinge we needed

Hope your install was easy. I just love how easy it was to adjust the Blums and line up the original roller catch.

The BIG Test
Were off and running on our Summer Adventure. Expect to put over 10,000 miles on the meter this trip. We will now see how all that work pans out... well as soon as the pup is ready.

So thanks for the link but the info I'm looking for is one mounting a "stand-alone" controller IN the RV on the wall close to the battery and what cables in the battery compartment I tie into (I couldn't identify the pre-wired Zamp wires even with input from the Zamp support guy.) He said to look for a large gauge red wire with a much smaller gauge black one attached to it...nothing like that under my stairs.
Obviously you feel ok with the controller being quite a distance from the batteries too (since it is built into your panel configuration.) That's good to know.

Got it. I just read your 2nd post. So I don’t think the OEM Zamp wires go to the battery directly. Pretty sure they go into the panel in the step well that is your battery control center.
Also, my controller is the waterproof Voyager. If it was not waterproof I would mount a controller above the Power Distribution box. It is easy to run cable from there as well.

Also, welcome to the FRF. You might want to check out Tombsy’s mods in the Forester section as well. He has been at it for a while.

I knew it had to be somewhere! So I would sure hope my local dealer could identify those wires, drill a hole in the top of the box to run a cable to the controller just above the box.
I'd really like the controller internal and it might allow me to then leave my panels flat on top of my roof (with some extra supports) when storing it outside to keep my batteries up.
Thanks for your input and I'll look up Tombsy's mods too...fun to see what others have done!

That is not a bad plan as long as you can secure the panels on the roof. Those metal frames can ding up your fiberglass and with no roof ladder it makes for an interesting climb.

If you bought a new one you need a trailer. Mine is a 2011 with almost 40,000 miles behind a motorhome. We check it with the camera to make sure it’s still there. It turns in the shadow of the MH which makes life easier. In other words, we love it. Taking it to Organ Pipe Cactus NP for some sight seeing in a few days.
It floats pretty good too.
