3050S handling much better with fully infated tires!

After our first drive home from the dealer I thought we were going to have handling problems. The MH would wander excessively, a "white knuckle" driving experience.

Last week before departing for our maiden voyage to Maine, I installed TPMS on all tires. The last tire I couldn't get a signal from the transmitter. I thought I had a problem with the stem extender, but it turned out my drivers side rear outside tire had no pressure in it!

Thankfully I was able to inflate the tire and tighten the extender so it stayed inflated. The drive on Friday was night and day better!

I guess now I better understand the phrase "kick the tires" because you couldn't tell by looking at the tire as it was being supported by the inside tire.

The dealer should have caught this as it was dangerous making the 80 mile drive home on three rear tires!

I am surprised in 80 miles that you didn't tear up the deflated tire not to mention the inner which would have been severely overloaded. I'd watch both closely for distress. I probably would ask the dealer to replace them since it's hard to see internal damage unless they are demounted.

I don't think the tire was flat for the trip, just low. The camper sat for weeks before I checked the pressures.

Tire Minder, from EBay.

My Class "A" dealer insisted I buy Tire Minder to monitor my tires. The system was over $500.00 including sensors for my tow vehicle. They are a chore to keep programed and only worked for about two trips. It was a total was of money and they went in the trash can. Still looking for a quality system worth spending money on.

I've used a $25 air gauge from Napa for almost 22 years and have only blown 1 tire in that time. I think I will stick with it. I can have them checked before the gas pump shuts off.

I'm using tire minder now for many trips and I'm very satisfied. PSI usually reads - couple of PSI low. So it's not completely accurate but it lets me know if there are any swings which thank goodness there hasn't been after an initial tire repaired that was leaking when the unit was new.
