(3170ds) adding an awning?

Has anyone added an awning to the bunk slide? I'm not talking about a slide topper. That's the one thing wed like to change about our 3170ds, more awning.

Are you wanting to additional outdoor shading or interior sun protection for the bunk area?

I don't have a MH but I did add a window awning on the backside of my TT to block incoming direct sunlight coming in my bed area. It does not provide any outdoor shading to use but works great for keeping my bed area cooler & not so bright.

Lots of F/R units have "Slide Awning" There is nothing Special about installing a Awning on a slide except the "Power supply"! Youroo!!

Addition shading. We are considering window awnings on the drivers side as well.

Awning

You can add an awning over almost any window. Yes I have added awnings on motor homes before.

I have a Freelander 31 BH I have thought about a awing on the bunk slide. That would be a lot more shade. Maybe a call to Forest River would tell us something.

3170DS- we purchased a nice 10x10 ez-up and erect it next to our awning. Simple, inexpensive and effective.

We do the same thing with an ez -up. We are also considering individual exterior shades for the windows.

We already do the ez up, but not simple when I'm solo camping.

awning.

I want to add a awning to at least one of my windows. For shade and so I can have the slide window open when it rains. Would like to find something not to costly even if I have to paint the frame to match outher hardware. I think this would be less costly than replacing a window with a awning type window.

Interested in this mod down the road as well! EZ Up Tent is the avenue we take now but sure would love to have another awning on the bunk/bedroom slide out in the rear!
