7 pin on chevy 4500

Does any one know where the 7 pin cable box on the rear of a Chevy 4500 connects to under the dash or hood? Looking for the 12 volt always hot line...

It should come off of the fuse box. Big However, in today's corporate times of greed, the 10cent fuse needed to power it is usually not installed. See pics. Pic is from GMC Sierra 1500, but should be similar for a chevy.

Anyone seen the aux 12 volt cable taped up in the express engine bay to connect to stud 1 for trailer 12 volt?

7 pin on chevy 4500

Chevy 3500HD is the pink 30A. The top of the photo is closest to the engine. If you look at the inside of the cover it is #2. Mine was blown when I bought the truck. Hope this helps

Yes. I forgot to mention, that I had to also connect the wires taped along side the fuse box, in addition to placing in the 40 amp "missing" fuse to enable pin7. I found it on a Google search.

upfitted

I looked at GM UPFITTERS.com and found fuse 11 (engine bay passenger sida) connected to a 30 amp that runs to a blunt cut red w/white stripe wire for the 12 volt. Can't find that rascal wire anywhere in the engine bay, traced it up to around the genny then it gets stuffed. I guess will run a new wire from the fuse post back to 7 pin as I do not have a truck lift to really dive into it.

Sure hope someone can tell me where the blunt cut is..... it seems strange to put a fuse (yes, it was good) on a blunt cut line....

Doubt GM Upfitters are wrong.

2013 van electrical manual pages A-69, B-1,B-2..
