Air conditioner fail - what's the warranty??

We bought this MBS WS May 2016. We are on a trip, it's hot. We have only used the air conditioner enough to check that it works

Today the fan is blowing like crazy. No cool air. We assume the warranty is up because it's been a year. But I read online an air-conditioner has a two year warranty. It's Dometic.

Can anyone tell us about the warranty?
We are trying to plan where to take this for repair.
Thank you.

Our Dometic A/C had a 2 year warranty.

Your Dometic manual should state the warranty. If you don't have a manual, you can look online and download the one for your model.

We have our collection of manuals with us in paper and offline but, shockingly to me, we never noticed we don't have AC-heat pump manual. The heater has worked in the past, too well. We have Dometic Duotherm but couldn't find exactly that on line. Apparently now it's Brisk II. At home with better connection I hope we can.
THANKS!

Is it possible that you have low voltage at your pedestal? Do you hear the compressor trying to start? If you don't have a voltmeter, start your generator and see if the A/C starts.

Otherwise, go through the thermostat manual carefully and see if something isn't set right.

There are some troubleshooting threads on the forum. Maybe you can find something that solves your problem.

Good luck.

I know with my ac it does not get cold if my filter gets plugged with dust and dirt. Try washing out the foam filter.

In our living room area, we are on our FOURTH Dometic AC. To be fair, one was destroyed by hail, but the other 3 failed. You have a 2 year warranty. But you have to get a RV repair guy who is certified with Dometic. So far #4 is working good, but don't bet the rent. They have had a lot of issues lately and they did have a recall 3 or 4 years back.

My AC failed 6 months after we got it. We have a 2015 Serria went back to the dealer they swapped it out that one did not work, they pulled that one back off and put another one up there , all while we waited. That one worked and with fingers crossed it still going. The Tech told me it was not unusual for a Dometic not to work right out of the box.

We are in a park that has 3 Pumas of 3 years old and all 3 have had bad Dometics A/C. One was replaced in the first year. I had to fight because mine was just out of warranty but they were gracious enough to extend my warranty because of all the trouble they are having with these units. It was replaced the other day, I hope it's a good one

We just had a 15K Dometic heat pump quit cooling on us back in April. We were on the road, so I contacted Dometic and let them know it had quit working and we were approaching the two year mark before we would be back home. They said no problem, made a note on the record that it was to be covered under warranty and replaced the unit in June with no questions asked. Great service! And if you're trying to diagnose the unit, here's how they knew mine had lost its refrigerant. The normal function of the compressor should pull around 13.8A; mine was only pulling about 3.0A when running, thus no refrigerant to be compressed. The units cannot be recharged, only replaced. I took it in to Camping World, they diagnosed it officially, contacted Dometic and a replacement unit was approved and shipped. I returned with the RV two weeks later when the unit came in and they replaced it in just a couple of hours. I did have to pay for one $30 gasket that needed to be replaced due to the design of our particular RV (it channels the condensate water to a drain rather than on to the roof), but that's not bad at all in my book.

re

If you tested it at home on house current you may have blown your A?C. That happened to us last year going to Key West. Stopped in Davie for the night the temp was like 97 deg.so I waited until 7:30 pm to turn the air on and the fan was running for about an hour and no cold air. at the time we had no towed so I called a cab and we headed for a motel and drove home the 4hrs the next morning. What I think happened, many times I ran the A/C on house current when I took the rv out of storage to make sure it was working. This time it blew the circuit breaker in my garage and I think that's what took out my A/C. My RV was just about 2yrs old.so my extended warranty paid for the new A/C. Lesson learned I only run my A/C off of the Generator before I leave the storage yard. I Keep the truck covered so I can't run my gen under load but that's ok.

Dometic had a lot of problems with their units on 2016 model years. I am on my 3rd unit. I have a 2016 Coachmen.5vr. You have a 2 year warranty. I would call my dealer and Dometic and tell.them you are on vacation and ask them to foot the bill for a mobile service to come to you and replace. Wish you well and some cool air soon.

A Dometic 15K Brisk Air II came with our new 2016 5th wheel and I installed a 2nd one myself. Both came with 2 year warranties with an option to extend the warranties an additional three years, now both are covered for five years, parts & labor.

Brisk Air II

2013 3010ds with the Brisk air 2 or whatever the piece of junk is called.

air used about 10 times in total and first time this year tried to use it and it doesnt work.

there goes almost2k to replace it.

Warning looks like dometic put together a piece of junk be aware or ask for an extended warrenty if you have one of these. The track record on this unit sux.

I would agree however i installed a progressive industries Surge protector and had a 30amp 120 plug wired directly to the fuse box of my house.

It just seems the Brisk Air II is a really bad unit.

On a side note you should not run your AC in 15 amp 120 if you need to test you should always use the generator or make sure your plugged into a 30 amp plug.

WoW!! Whoever wants almost $2K to replace a Briskair II is making a ton! I had CW in Myrtle add a 15K unit for less than $900 installed.

I had my 13.5 go out a couple weeks ago. I thought it might be the capacitor and replaced it. Upon further inspection (when the cap change didn't work), I found that the overload sensor on the compressor had melted away from the terminal on the compressor. Not sure if the OL sensor was/is bad or maybe there was a loose connection at the compressor. It's located under a cap on the compressor itself. Mine would do the same thing, fan would run, but compressor wouldn't even attempt to run. I have (and always had) an EMS wired up in the coach.

well not 2k but 1938.43 cents.

Wish i was in the US canadian prices are so expensive.

i think i get it back today.. on a side note do you know if you can have a bleeder valve welded in so you can re-add r-132a regrigerant if it leaks out and what would the cost be.. It may be something to look into. This 2k every couple of years my get a little pricey.
