Had the same problem they replaced the motor, blower wheel and the condenser fan blade, Make sure they replace the motor to, because it has damaged the shaft for sure. Which is a double shafted motor.

Finally took it to a dealer to check out...they're recommending that I replace the entire a/c unit. Said that replacing parts inside these units gets costly and may or may not fix my issue. They want close to $1,000 plus tax. Seems to me with a proper diagnosis of the issue they should be able to narrow it to a faulty part (or system) and replace what's needed...maybe I'm missing aomething. For those who had fans and motors replaced...what did that cost? I asked my dealer to get me a price for just a new motor...they're calling me back tomorrow.

My neighbors just had a broken fan (1 blade was broken) replaced at thier site. It was about $10, plus a $50 service call fee. I think they might have had it cleaned and filter changed, and I don't know how much that part cost.
I try somebody else before scrapping it for a new one. Just my thought though.

Now we're down to just replacing the fan and motor... $440 plus tax and "that's not guaranteed to fix the problem". How big a job is it to replace the fan and motor?

If you just replace the motor you might still have a problem real soon again. The motors are doubled shafted so either the condenser fan blade and the blower wheel could be also out of balance. That will happen again if you do not replace both at the same time. The new motors have different mounting holes they have to line it up perfect or you will still have a problem. Mine cost $535.00 labor and all parts. Good luck

The dealership wants to replace the whole unit...I'm out of warranty so it will be at my expense. I'm trying to decide if it's worth paying to replace the whole thing when the problem is likely caused by a single component. Just spoke with them again...they've contacted the a/c manufacturer to see if they'll help out. We'll see what happens....

Viberation in AC

Had bad vibration in my AC. While at the rally, Tech Team removed A/C & replaced the gasket (dough-nut gasket) between the AC and roof with thicker gasket. Vibration gone. I had stopped the vibration by raising the AC slightly, inserted a sponge door mat under the AC, vibes stopped!!!!! It worked until the rally which then the permanent fix was done by Techs.

Try running AC, get on roof, lift the rear of AC slightly to see if the vibration stops. If it does, replace gasket between the AC and roof. There is a thicker gasket available for AC. Or purchase a kitchen or door sponge
mat from Lowe's. Cut about 6" off mat, insert between the bottom of AC
and roof.

Good Lucho

I know this is an old thread but, my TT is only 3 years old. It started vibrating when the AC is on. Definitely the fan because it does it with just the fan. It's worse on low than high? You can see the shaft the squirrel cage sits on move when you push on the cage with your hand. We are going camping in 3 days. It is hot. Any suggestions and yes we are not afraid of fixing it ourselves.

Is it safe to crawl across these roofs? We were thinking mud wasp because it didn't do it a week ago when we tried it to make sure it worked? On high the vibration is no where near as bad?

From what we could tell from the inside it also looks like the squirrel cage and shaft moves a 1/4 to 1/2 inch when you move it with your hand? The squirrel cage doesn't hit anything when it spins so that isn't the problem. We will definitely have to pull the top off and take a look. Thanks.

Mine is 3 years old now so I would assume out of warranty.
