Air ride question

We have air ride bags on the back area of our Sunseeker 3170. I was wondering what kind of portable inflater do any of you use. It's too expensive to install remote ones and we don't want to be stuck having to go to a gas station. Also, we just had automatic levelers installed. Is there any reason we'd need to adjust the air rises when using the levelers? Thanks for any help. This is new to us.

Some thing like this would be more than enough.

12Volt 150 PSI Compact Air Compressor

As long as you don't severely change you load, it's kind of a " set and forget thing.

( assuming no leaks either) ..

Check it every once in a while.

pump it up

A small , very small 120 or 12v pump will do the air bags, but not the tires. It does not take much to fill the bags. Stay below 100 psi...

I actually carry both a small cheap ($20) one for the bags, and an expensive vair 450p for the tires.

What is the model # of the Viair Compressor that you use? What is the difference in the one you have and the "RV" model?
Thanks

I have the 300P. The difference between mine and the RV model is mine must be shut off when not inflating. That is, you can't let it run while you move from one tire to the next, it will continue pumping and blow the hose. Most tankless compressors work this way it seems. But the RV model actually has a shutoff. So you don't have to have the compressor right with you while you go around the RV.

Thanks for all the great advice. We don't have a 12 volt outlet in or near the bay's. Any cordless options?

Look for a "jump start box" that has a built in air compressor. You can find them at Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, Walmart, or some automotive supply stores. I have one with a built in flashlight and air compressor that was about $40 on sale after Christmas.

Bet this would reach far enough.

25' 12-Volt Extension Cord - Prime Products 08-0917 - Electrical Cords - Camping World

Amazon might have it for less.

I have the Air Lift Load system for my rear bags. About the same price as the expensive Vair. Gauge up front on dash with push button adjustment. Always know pressure in bags. Have a Porter Cable 1.5 electric compressor in rear storage plugged into Dyson outlet and 50' of hose for sunseeker and biketires. Just kick on generator if not connected to 110 power.

I use a bicycle air pump for the air bags. The bags are small so a lot of volume is not required.

I tried using a 12v pump, but a HF bike pump was a simple solution. 5-10 pumps and done. Took more time to unpack the 12v pump and setup than to use this pump.
HF for $10.

If you do go 12v you should pull from the battery. The viair will do the 85 psi tires....

I have a pancake compressor from HF and a 25 foot coil hose with quick connects plus truck tire chuck with gauge. Less than $75 for the pile. It sits in the compartment and can reach outside outlet, hose reaches every where without removing from compartment. Also handy around home.
