Amber/Silver full body paint

We have been looking at Sunseeker's and debating over getting the amber or silver full body paint. Concerns. Hotter in summer, is that true and does the one 15 BTU air conditioner enough to cool it down or should we stick to the white. Thoughts!

Get the one that you like since you will be looking at it every time you camp. We have the indigo which is quite dark, live in Florida and camped last August in Biloxi Ms for almost a month and it was cool enough to keep the DW happy.

It does help to keep the awning out, find shade if possible and use the insulated vent cushions.

Ours is 32' so with one A/C it has a lot to cool.

I'm 32 ft. Have awnings on main side window plus the big main and a 13500 a.c. unit. All white unit and does cool. One thing I have read about with painted units. They don't have colored sealant for the seams so they are all white. That being said, they paint over the seams. These units move, seaplane shrinks and you wind up with cracks in the sealant. That's when the complaining starts. Even if you don't move it it still shrinks. That's something to think about.

The silver won't show the dirt like the amber will.

Good point, we have always had white and trying to get away from it. Its not like your cleaning and washing the RV all the time like cars. I do have a brownstone metallic color on my truck and it really looks good slightly dirty.

We also have the silver in a 32' (3010DS) with a 15K. Would highly recommend the 15K with heat pump. Ours is 18 months old and have not experienced any problems with the caulk showing through the paint. FR does include 4 bottles of touch up paint and the colors are readily available at a Sikkens dealer. I don't doubt that I will need to touch up some of the caulk sometime in the future. We have camped from Nova Scotia to the Rio Grande and have not found any place that the single 15K couldn't keep us comfortable. As a previous poster said, the vent covers probably help and we do have an insulated cover for the cab windows. I've found the silver paint easy to keep looking good with minimal effort and it certainly requires less effort than our previous 32' class C that had a regular gel coat unpainted finish. And as a last note, there are no decals to be replaced after a few years.

Full body paint also comes with 3M protection covering all frontal exposed areas on the cab, cap and front facing parts of the box. I thought the cost was exceedingly high but got our dealer to let us have it at there cost. List was 5593 and I think we got it for somewhere around 4500. Full body paint also will increase the resale value.

Now to pick a floor plan

I like the amber, I think it will do well for looking good, We are torn between the bunks 3170 and the 3010, both are nice, Grandkids will love the bunks as much as the adults for a separate room and sitting place plus storage. The 3010 has nice open floor plan, with great frig and counter space. Leaning towards bunks. Not really looking to sell it before I buy but I am sure with the paint and the bunks it will be a good one.
