Another TOAD Question

I have searched here and elsewhere, but I cannot find an answer to my TOAD question.

I have a Sunseeker 3170ds and a 2002 Toyota 4Runner 4WD that I would like to tow when we go to the beach. It would be around 100 miles one way. Not wanting to take it cross country, etc. Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Not sure why you posted a TOAD question under your type of RV but go ahead with your questions.

Number one thing is to check your owners manual for the vehicle you'd like to tow for details. There are a number of vehicles which cannot be towed 4 wheels down, as the manufacturer builds them. If you already have the Toyota and not willing to change, it may need to be trailered. Then there's the towing capacity of your RV.

We need more info as to what help we can offer.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I misused the term TOAD? New to all of this and just trying to learn. The manufacturer states that I can't tow 4 wheels down. I have read about changes or mods that can be done to make that a possibility. Also, is there a better trailer to use with an SUV vs a regular automobile? Hoping to gain knowledge from the good people on FRFs. Thanks again.

Your use of Toad, is correct.
I think kenandterry was suggesting that you post your Toad question, in the Towing/Toad sub-forum here, rather than a brand-specific MH sub-forum.

Thanks, I'm sorry for the error. Still learning my way around here and with the MH.

If you are only towing the Toad a hundred miles why bother getting the gear and setup to properly tow it. Just have someone drive it as it's only about 2 hours. That's what we do on trips less than about 120 miles, DW drives the car and I the MH. We only tow on longer trips. Now if you don't have another driver going along than I guess you have no choice.

Now that is just too simple...

That is probably what we are going to do. We really won't be using the equipment that often to justify the expense and/or the labor to do it correctly. Thanks for grounding me back into reality.
