Automatic levelers on shorter RV?
We are considering purchase of 2430S and were told by a salesperson that the dealership never orders automatic levelers for the shorter class C units because they were not useful on that size RV.
We don't have any experience with this and hope to learn whether the automatic leveling system is worth it and useful on a 25-26' class C. Thanks.

Sounds like a salesman answer to me! I have never had a class C but I would have loved auto level on my shorter fifth wheels. I bet the dealership is just trying to keep the cost down. I would investigate other dealers and/or see about ordering a unit with everything you want. Good luck!

We have a 24' Travel Trailer and while it's a shorter rig, I'd personally love self/auto leveling. We currently have sticky levels on the front and side of the coach and then we use the level jacks with the yellow lego type blocks under to level as needed and then the front stable bar we move up or down as needed (this piece is automatic). If I could push a button and have the leveling done for me that would be awesome.

Our rig is only 2+ feet longer and I wouldn't be without my Bigfoot levelers. All sites are different and unless it's a poured pad you'll need leveled. Also will stabilize your rig

You can always try it without, and see how it goes. They can always be added later.
Being level is more critical if you are using a Propane/Electric refrigerator. I don't run my refer, and I don't mid being a bit off-level.
YMMV

DW's cousin has the 2251 SLE which i only 24' and did not come with them. After a trip to Alaska he had the BigFoot 4 point automatic levelers installed. He had downsized from a 36' Bounder and really missed them.

First hand experience... We have a 2300 with factory bigfoot jacks. Yes, I would get them again, and again.

I would not own a TT or anything else without either the level-up, big foot or the electrical auto leveling system. I had it added after, It's alot cleaner installation if you get it done when being built....

Dealers keep the list price down to get more people to look. An auto level system will cost more later than if factory installed most every time.
I place 2 plastic pads under each foot to keep them clean, then press a button. The coach is level and Stabil. No boards and no levels. Anyone with a bad back, bad knees, over 50, or that does not enjoy wasting time with work should have auto level. I would not own any coach without it.
I unhitched, connect electric (not required) and punch the button. It does the job before I have the water hose out and connected.

Our Lexington 283GTS came with HHW levellers and we love it. Won't be without them again.

Our 2014 2500TS cam with the Big foot system and it is great.
Almost all sites are not level and with the touch of a button you do not have to run around and check the leveling of the unit. On manual control for example , if the front end is down just put up the two front jacks and you are done.
time saver and great system. just put a 2 x 6 piece of wood under the feet before you put them down as they will tend to sink into hot pavement or a wet camp site..

Looks like the consensus is that auto levelers are fantastic on any size rig!!! I know we love ours. 2jcsontheroad, find a new salesman and get what you want! 😁

I, too, was on the fence about adding them to the order when we ordered our 2861, but I am sure glad I did! Like others have said, the stabilization alone makes a huge difference, and the 10 minutes saved not playing with the giant legos is just more time on bottle (wine that is). There is also a certain satisfaction that comes from watching our empty rig contort to perfect level like a posessed low-rider! Not sure if it would be a deal breaker for me on an outstanding deal, but I would recommend to anyone that they opt for the levelers if it is an option.
The next time I do a one-nighter I am going to try not to push that auto level button (going to be tough) and see what a full day without being level and stabilized is really like. Sadly, it looks like it may have to wait until Spring as last weekend was a little colder (34 degrees) than ideal for us.
Good luck!

What they said, esp CapJohn about dealers. Also, first time you roll in after a long drive in the rain and all you have to do is hit the button, you'll be glad you have them.

We were quoted $7500 to add it later, $2250 to order it with it. No brainer there.
