AUX Battery switch repair info
The aux battery switch on my dash was not working so after searching the web found not alot of information about the system. My rv is a 2005 sunseeker ford E450 The system besides connecting the coach batterys to the engine battery for an emergency jump start, also charges the coach batterys while driving. This spring the battery on my rv was down and would not start the engine and I found that the aux switch was not working SO I started to search for information on this system mostly all I could find was it had a 5 amp fuse but it was reported to be under the dash or under the hood or who knows so following the wires at the switch I found the control box (didnt know there was one) it is located under the back side of the drivers seat covered with a little wood box with carpet on it, from there I searched the part number and found a schematic as to how it is wired and at what point the fuse is in the wiring, T then followed the wiring back to the coach batteries and finially found the fuse hanging behind the batteries and the fuse was blown,There is also a solenoid mounted in the battery area and you can hear it click if it is working. After changing the fuse the system now works and I put everything back together. I'm writing this in order to help the next person that runs in to this problem because there is so very little there to be found on this.
