Awning Deployment

I have an '06 M2940. When deploying the awning, the slide must be retracted to get the awing over the slide itself. When the awning is fully deployed, it rests atop the slide on the rollout mechanism. Is this normal, or can it be corrected?

It was not normal on a three slide coach that I once owned and I wouldn't think it would be by any manufacturer

Could it just be slack in the awning due to age? I am sure it can be tightened if it is. I know many have tightened a slide topper. Over wise they make little roller balls for door and such. Maybe that could work.

PS: after thought... Is it the awning material or the awning metal roller?

It's the awning itself. It's like the roller mechanism wasn't mounted high enough on the slide. Hard to explain. I'll see if I can get a pic.

Are both the side arm adjusters fully extended? If you decrease their length that will change the angle, and where, the awning stops when it is fully deployed....
