Bdemens
In the back bed room tv when showing a dvd front the front I get a black and white picture with snow. This only happens when showing dvd. I had other warranty issue and talk to the dealer and was told this was normal.
I have the switch unit in the front cabinet that switch from antenna to dvd or alt source. The question is does this suppose to show dvd using the front dvd player?

Not really. It can, but as you can see when splitting the signal and running it via coax the picture is terrible. You'd be better off with a dedicated DVD player in the bedroom, that also allows you to use its own remote. As you can see, when running "Over the air channels" the picture comes in in crystal clear HD. Each TV is getting the raw signal and then processes that for the picture. DVD player doesn't work that way.

You should get a just ok picture. Make sure the channel is set to the same channel that the switch box is set for. I for one, would not be happy with the resulting picture.

You'd have to talk to a dealer about ordering parts for it. I'm not sure it would just fit in there without modification.

As for color "should it be color?" "could it be in color" would be a more appropriate phrase. I would think that in checking for loose connections, making sure your channel is set to the same channel on the back of the switch box and making sure the dvd is playing before you scan for channels that it would play in color. A stand alone DVD player would be the preferred choice.

I agree with Brian on the dedicated DVD.
First the signal from the Magnadyne is component (subjected to 480 resolution) then modulated - combining audio and video into one line then there is the line run with couplers and 90's, all adding to signal loss. While mentioning the 90's, some have mentioned that the coax 90 used on the tv coax entry has been problematic. I would suggest trying a direct connect without the 90 and see if the signal improves.
You will probably need to remove the tv which is done by pushing upward from the bottom of the tv. The tv bracket is like a V so it can wedge in pretty tight.

Rear TV

We had the exact same problem and we complained and complained until the problem was fixed. Eventually they replaced the front dah unit and we now have an acceptable color picture in the rear. it is not HD quality nor did we expect that.

We too are going to put a seperate DVD in the rear using a 12 V DVD /Blue-Ray with a 12 V splitter plug right where the TV is . there is a shelf the player can go on behind the cabinet.
