Bedroom slide quit working, had to put it in manually

This post is just an informative post for anyone having a problem putting in the bedroom slide on a 2860DS. Mine acted up the last time or two I used it but then failed to come in at all this past Saturday. I talked to a service tech at the RV dealer where I bought it and he talked me through putting it in manually.

You lift up the mattress and plywood it is on to reveal another piece of plywood that is screwed down with 2 screws. Under that piece is the power converter, water tank and other goodies. At the head of the bed is the electric motor that operates the slide. I ran the motor and one shaft was moving but it was not moving the slide at all. On the other side of the gear box was a large nut and cotter pin attached to a shaft. You can put a wrench/socket on that nut and turn it by hand. That brings the slide in or out. I was able to bring it in and leave it.

The dealer now has it as a warranty issue.

So my one question is, where is the manual slide operation for the living room slide? Under the couch somewhere?

It's in the outside compartment under the slide. At least it is on mine.
