Bedroom tv fixture

I've got a pretty basic 2012 SS, it came with the one TV that flops around on the articulating mount right above the drivers head. I'd like to get rid of that annoying mount once and for all.

I'd like to move it to the bedroom just to the left of the thermostat and I'm curious how to mount it to the wall. Can I use screws? If so how long. I don't want a screw poking out into the bathroom. Is there an adhesive like a double faced tape? If so, can I get it at Walmart or Autozone?

Just screws into the wallboard won't work unless you are able to locate vertical studs to anchor into. Simply screwing into the thin wallboard won't support the jarring/bouncing of the weight of a tv going down the road for very long. Neither will double face tape.

Go to a hardware store or big box store and ask for either steel hollow wall anchors or toggle bolts. Either can be purchased for the thickness of your wall board and should hold the weight of the tv.

Before you mount a TV on the wall, remove the 12 volt outlet to see how thin the wallboard is. You may have second thoughts. If it's like the wallboard in ours, it doesn't have much strength. It's okay as a partition, but not for support.

Not a "pretty option" but I have contact cemented a small piece of plywood and threw in a couple of screws to support it. Then attached the mount to the plywood. In my previous trailer I never had a problem with it loosing or falling.

Okay thanks for all the advise, it is a pretty thin partition. I think maybe toggles will work, but I need to think it through before I go punching holes in the wall.

👍 That's what we have our installers do at work for 90" LED's. Make the plywood board 2" smaller than the flat back of the TV, paint it black, and mount to wall as Scubanut suggested. It blends in with the black mount and trim of TV.
