The Bigfoot system panel comes on when the chassis ignition is turned on. This is normal! An alarm will sound if the feet are down! If they aren't, the system will automatically shut down after a few minutes. Hope this helps. Good luck, and Happy Camping ⛺️

Sorry to hear about the hail. I am always concerned about weather damage. I am still trying to get a permanent fix for a the cracked long plastic vertical piece on the rear passenger side corner. It was repaired under warranty (should have been replaced), but a year later the crack reappeared an looks to be expanding. I think it never ends. I sure hope it does soon, though my challenges have been minor compared to some.

Yes, it is normal to come on when the chassis ignition is turned on. Not normal to come on when the furnace igniter kicks in. That is what is happening with ours.

Pcryer,
Very sorry about the hail damage and Bigfoot issues with your MH. I hope they get resolved quickly. I should have read ALL the posts more carefully instead of just the first few. Good luck [emoji256] and safe travels.

Big Foot problem

I also have a 2860 DS Sunseeker. If anyone finds out the answer to this problem, let me know. I am having the same issue.

Does anyone know why the Bigfoot alarm would sound when I retracted the feet before moving the camper? The control panel showed "all up", yet the alarm sounded, like the feet were down. I hit the "emergency retract" button, and the noise stopped. But, why did the alarm go off in the first place? I retracted the jacks before we moved!

The sensor may have been 'off' just a bit. I have had that happen when there was mud or dirt on the foot plate. Hitting the Emergency retract seems to clear it, cleaning the dirt off made the problem go away. The sensors are easily distracted.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my "Bigfoot" problem. We just got our new "Sunseeker" in February. We are definitely "newbies" at this. So, your help is appreciated.

Pcryer-
Did you ever get the issue corrected with the Bigfoot control panel coming on when the furnace ignites? Finally had a chance to test ours out again and it does the same thing.

They are going to try changing out the furnace control panel. The part came in but was the wrong part. The new part came in but we are scheduled for hail damage repair next week. After the hail damage repair we can try the furnace panel. Maybe someone else will figure it out before then because I don't have a good feeling that the repair will work.

Bigfoot control panel and other items

This may help. I haven't had the dealer look at mine yet.

Thanks so much! We are taking ours in on Wednesday. They are replacing the furnace control panel but I have printed out the information and will be taking it with me to the dealer. These forums are the best =)

Mine hasn't seemed to come on by itself since it was looked at in February.

Our 2018 2680DS did the same thing this weekend when the furnace ignites and after it powers up the all up and air dump lights flash back and forth. It was our second time out and first with using the heat. After the heat shuts off it powers off and is fine. Had no issues with breaking camp and retracting the levelers.
Issue is on the list of warranty problems including noisy heater fan and crack in ceiling at A/C unit next to cabinets in kitchen
I did unplug the panel and relocate the cables and the flashing lights stopped but it still powers up when the heat ignites following this for info

Just got our MH back and issue has been resolved! They removed and replaced igniter and it still failed. They put a heat shield over the control board module and ran a separate 12 volt power source from house battery and put in a 10 amp inline fuse at battery and did not fail. Paperwork states the wiring fixed it but the tech said the heat shield fixed it. He also said FR had not seen or heard of this issue prior. It was the first he had had seen at this shop. Went over all 9 issues and all were fixed or explained as non issue satisfactorily. Dropped it off on 11/15, picked up today 12/6. And may have a new fishing buddy too!
He said issues are on record and to let them know if anything arises again but is confident all is well.
Pleased with the service dept at Flagg RV in W. Boylston MA

They put a heat shield over the furnace control board or the Bigfoot control board? And ran a new separate 12v line to furnace or Bigfoot? I have this issue and want to give your remedy a try

Great news and update! Thanks for sharing Can you please post a picture of the heat shield modification? I'll definitely want to install one as well.

Haven't figured out how to edit a post. Mine did continue to have the issue with coming on--I just hadn't used the furnace for awhile.
