Black tank cleaning

My last camping trip when I connected non potable hose to the black tank flush inlet water was not going into the black tank to clean tank. Any suggestions as to what would prevent water from entering the tank? I was under the impression that it is simply water pressure from hose entering the tank that provides the extra cleaning. I do not know what could be clogged.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Either clogged at the tank spray nozzle or inlet screen or kink in hose or bad vacuum break valve.....
