Black tank flushing problems

First time wintering in our 3050. Have been letting black tank fill to just over 2/3, then flushing, using pucks each time. No paper. Last week heavy smell noticed, used tank wand flusher on hose seemed to work, now smell returned again, seems sensor may be clogged as after dumping sensor still reads 1/3 or 2/3. Went to try external tank flush, hose bib inlet located passenger side above rear wheel bunk. Hooked up hose, opened flush valve as instructed, and no water appeared to enter tank at all. Called home repair shop he advised me to look for plate near inlet valve at black tank? Looked everywhere cannot see possible access. My quess is somehow prior use( coach was ex-rental?) maybe full clean out did not occur and something had now hardened and blocked black tank inlet?
Any suggestions on how to open/ allow this flush valve to work?
First photo shows inlet, second is large plastic try that is attached to coach underneath the inlet location.Click image for larger version

Is there a vent pipe on the roof that is plugged up or defective? I think the toilets are vented out to let odors out and air in as needed. Not positive on the venting......It sounds like you have done a good job cleaning but maybe there's left over stuff in there.

Black tank flush won't fill

Thanks for the replies!
Wildcat - are you describing the inlet cave on the side of the coach ( photo 1) or should I remove the tray (photo 2 ) and see what is above? Trying to discover how and where this inlet valve attaches to black tank.

go up on your roof and uncover all the small vent on the top. They probably are blocked and not allowing the air from the tank to vent to atmosphere. The result is the air is forced back up into ur camper through the toilet.

The smell can be from running your vent fan when flushing the toilet. The fan pulls vapors up from the toilet. Seems odd but we had the issue with our coach.

Quality Control Issue

My 2015 Georgetown XL had the Back Flush valve on backwards. Someone on the forum put me in the know. I had to cut the pex line and turn the valve the correct way. Not to easy but doable. You most likely will need some help from a skinny person with a pex cutter and two 1/2 inch pex clamps. Mine was under the Bathroom sink. Go figure.

Several good suggestions. You exhaust fans can pull odor from toilet. Be sure to crack open a window when fan on so you are replacing air you are exhausting. Replacement air has to come from somewhere, if not from a window, from the toilet. All plumbing, sinks, shower and toilet have vents on roof. If blocked odors can enter the RV. If you don't crack open a window when exhaust fan is on, air can come up through the toilet which gets air from vent on roof which travels over stuff in black tank.

I had the same issue - dealer didn't fix it so I did. See this thread: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ut-106550.html

I just fixed mine. The hose from the side of the camper, going to the check valve ( which was routed about 18" above all the other water lines - I assume was to help in the event the check valve failed) was kinked. New unit, and never worked, so it was a factory install. Note to self, put on my pdi next time. Start simplest and easiest steps first.

Good luck
