Connect water hose to inlet of sprayer, open black tank valve, turn on water. Let it run until clean enough. A clear elbow helps you determine.

That is basically a spray cleaner for your black tank Noting special in operating it other than making sure you have the black tank drain valve open when you use it as you are introducing water ( under pressure) into the black tank and it needs somewhere to go. Most people do not use a pressure regulator on the line feeding the sprayer. Drain your black tank and then run the sprayer. It helps if you add a clear elbow between the back tank drain valve and the drain hose so you can see how it is working. There should be a sticker n the unit near the tank wash valve reminding you to open the black tank drain.

Congrats on your purchase! If like mine, you simply screw the hose to the input and the other end to the hose bib/faucet. Once you turn on the water, the tank will begin flushing with a spray of water from the doohickey mounted in the tank. Mine takes about a minute to flush out the gunk and turn the draining water from brown to clear. I will close the valve occasionally to let the tank partially fill with clean water and then pull the valve to aid in flushing action. Just be SURE not to close the valve for too long or close the valve and walk away. Filling the closed tank to overfill would be disastrous...and gross.

BTW, never use your fresh water hose for this procedure. I'm not sure how much back spray there is or isn't into the hose but it's just disgusting to even think about. I have a dedicated black rubber hose I use solely for the black tank rinse.

The black tank flush is basically a built in sprayer to help clean out your tank. When I use ours I dump the tanks, leave the black dump valve open, connect a non-potable water hose to the exterior flush port and turn on the water. After a couple minutes I watch the water coming out of the tank, thru a clear sewer hose connector, to see if anything but clear water is being flushed. After I see only clear water running I turn off the hose and let the tank finish draining before closing the black tank dump valve.

Even though black tank flush ports should have a back flow preventer, a one way valve to keep black water from backing up the valve in to the hose, I do not use our fresh water hose, for potable water, to clean the tank. I use a cheap garden hose for all non-potable water usage. The white water hose is for fresh water, the green garden hose is for potentially slimy water...

The sprayer on mine does a lousy job. If I really want my tank cleaned, I fill it up about 1/2 way with water, take a bumpy drive then dump it.

My unit did not come with one.
I added an aftermarket one and mounted it about 1/3 the way up the tank- so I can leave the valve shut for a minute or so, let it fill up some- then pull the valve and let it keep running. Works great so far.

I also use one of these and it does a fairly good job.

I use one of these on my black tank hose, available from many sources from about $12. Search for garden hose water meter.

RAINWAVE WATER TIMER .. SAVE WATER - FLOW METER

After dumping the black tank I close the valve and fill to about 2/3 full using this meter, dump again, repeat then run flusher with valve open until tank drains clear. I verified the accuracy of the two meters I have by filling 5 gal buckets and comparing the volume measured. Both were very accurate.

I also use one on my fresh water hose when partially filling the fresh tank prior to a trip (I carry 10 gal for roadside toilet/sink use).

If I want to verify just how full my black tank is, I just look down the toilet.

Lucky you!
My discharge pipe from the toilet to the black tank has a 45º ell in the plumbing.
I would never see the level until it was coming up into the toilet!

If you keep up on maintaining your black tank the flush system will work flawlessly
I use the sewer clean out in my front yard for a home drain
(White capped sewer)
My tank is never left with waste in it
We come home from a trip and I religiously clean the black tank and clean clear water flows in just a few min
I threw the wand sprayer in the basement, there is no reason to drag a dirty hose through your home and stick down a toilet.FR put this system in so you can perform this task quickly, cleanly and efficiently.
Keep up every trip or when you dump on long trips and life is good

degates, ..... please look at the link below, in post #3 and #13 of that link you will find info that no one else has mentioned, ... what I describe happening in #3 is a fact, .... and in #13, I explain why it's advised against closing the valve while spraying/filling your tank, .... there is a big difference between closing your valve for a 1-2 minute spray and closing it for a 20 minute spray/filling(that's just common sense), ... anyway, just thought you should hear another idea on tank cleaning, ... happy trailering ......

Things I learned the hard way - but all is good in black tank flush land now. No problems since I disassembled, cleaned and reassembled, it works great now.
